An independent claim is included for steel chains produced by cold forming of steel containing (wt%): carbon 0.08 - 0.25, especially 0.16 - 0.23; silicon 0.10 - 0.30; manganese 0.80 - 1.60, especially 1.00 -1.35; phosphorus max 0.020; sulfur max 0.015; chromium 0.40 - 0.80, especially 0.40 - 0.65; molybdenum 0.30 - 0.50, especially 0.35 - 0.50; nickel 0.70 - 1.20, especially 0.75 - 1.00; aluminum 0.020 - 0.060, especially 0.020 - 0.045; nitrogen 0.007 - 0.018, especially 0.007 -0.0015; vanadium max 0.15; niobium max 0.07. The links are butt-welded and the chain is tempered.</p> |
