METHOD ON MAKING ACTIVATED CARBON USING LIVESTOCK MANURE

A method of preparing activated carbon using livestock waste is provided to prevent environmental pollution due to livestock waste and diversify and maximize utilization of livestock waste by making activated carbon that is an environment improving agent using livestock waste generated from breeding of livestock. A method of preparing activated carbon using livestock waste comprises: a transfer step of transferring livestock waste from a livestock stable by a conveyor belt(1); a livestock waste drying step of drying the transferred livestock waste or primarily dried livestock waste in a drying furnace using waste heat of a post combustion chamber(13); a carbonization step of injecting the dried live stock waste into a rotary kiln(6) that is a carbonization furnace by a chute(4) within a hopper(3) to carbonize the dried livestock waste in an atmosphere with a temperature of 350 to 400 deg.C and 2 ml/min of N2 gas for 30 to 60 minutes; an activation step of developing micro-pores in the carbonized livestock waste by 150 kg/hr of steam while heating the carbonized livestock waste in an atmosphere with a temperature of 750 to 800 deg.C and 2 ml/min of N2 gas for 30 to 60 minutes; and a sorting and packing step of incinerating exhaust gas generated in the carbonization step and the activation step in the post combustion chamber of 1,000 deg.C, pulverizing the activated material, sorting the pulverized powder in accordance with particle sizes, and packing the sorted powder.
