A roller body (2) with a flexible layer (3) spans across the opening (5) of e.g. a control console. The roller body is capable of curving or deflecting in a direction parallel to the axis (7) of the opening and normal to the roller axis. The amount of curvature deflection (A) of the roller body ranges from 1 to 2 centimeters. The roller also forms locking ends (8) secured slidingly to the guide openings (9) at both sides of the opening. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a roller.
