A keypad illumination device of a portable terminal is provided to install light sources on one side of a wave guide, and to arrange the wave guide at an optical shaft of the light sources. Plural key buttons(223) are arrayed on one side of a wave guide(202). At least more than one light source(213) is disposed on at least one side of the wave guide(202), and enables light for illuminating the key buttons(223) to be incident on the wave guide(202). Guide members(203) are provided to cover the light sources(213) to prevent the light from leaking, and guide the light so that the light can be incident on the wave guide(202).
