An electro-optical transflective display device includes a plurality of pixels (Px), wherein each pixel (Px) includes three sub-pixels (Dxr,Dxg,Dxb) each sub-pixel having a transmitting region (At) and a reflecting region (Ar) in which a color filter (122at(R),122at(G),122at(R)), (122ar(R),122ar(G),122ar(B)) having three respective colors is included and at least one fourth sub-pixel in which a color filter (122at(C)) having one color other than the three colors is disposed in the transmitting region (At). In the transmitting region (At), transmission display is performed and in the reflection region (Ar), reflection display is performed. A color display is performed by the reflection display or the transmission display, and one pixel (Px) is formed as a display unit by using the transmitting regions (122at(R),122at(G),122at(R)) of the three sub-pixels (Dxr,Dxg,Dxb) corresponding to the three colors and the at least fourth sub-pixel (Dxc) and the reflecting regions (122ar(R),122ar(G),122ar(B)) of the three sub-pixels (Dxr,Dxg,Dxb) corresponding to the three colors. |
