A locking device in a portable terminal is provided to enable a slide hook to restrict or release rotation of a folder by rotating a locker housing by sliding according to a press operation, thereby preventing the folder from being opened when the terminal is unused, protecting an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) installed in the folder, and previously preventing power consumption due to preventing system malfunction of the terminal. In a portable terminal comprising: a main body; a folder rotatively combined on the main body; and a hinge module for combining the folder to rotate from the main body, a locking device(100) in the portable terminal comprises the followings: a locker housing(110): a sliding hook(120) which is installed within the locker housing(110) and restricts or release rotation of the folder by rotating the locker housing(110) by sliding according as press operation; and an elastic member(130) which is installed within the locker housing(110) and provides elastic force for enabling the sliding hook(120) to slide.
