Class 8(1) A suction cleaner comprises a body 3 housing a motor fan unit 20 and a cover 2 containing a filter 40 carried in a resilient, or resiliently mounted, frame 34 by the body 3 and exposed when the cover 2 is removed. The cover 2 carries an inlet conduit 46 which enters the opening 43 of the filter bag 40 when positioned on the body. The opening 43 is surrounded by a felt washer 44 and the filter is supported by a mounting plate 45 which slides into channel members secured to the frame 34. Specification 766,109 is referred to.
