<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detector capable of a wooden small-sized ship and underwater obstruction detection by providing at least one of a laser radar part and a sonar part on an obstruction detection part. SOLUTION: A laser radar part 23 is provided with a light-transmitting system part 230 and a light-receiving system part 240. A pulse-like laser light 40 used for illuminating a recognition object is generated with a pulse laser device 100. The characteristics of the output, pulse width, generation repeating frequency or the like of the laser light 40 is designated from a user (observer) through a control signal generator 160, consisting of a personal computer or the like. A control signal according to the designation is transmitted from the control signal generator 160 to a pulse laser control device 200, and the pulse laser device 100 operates by the pulse laser control device 200. At this time, required electric power is supplied with a pulse laser power source 300.
