<p>The method involves detecting a lane filtering situation in which the driver has to filter into traffic in a different lane. When the lane filtering situation is detected, an information signal is determined that indicates the filtering situation to the driver. The filtering situation is detected if the lane on which the vehicle is traveling ends. The information signal controls an acoustic indication, such as a voice output, and/or a visual indicator. An independent claim is included for an apparatus for assisting a driver of a vehicle.</p> |
