A mobile communication terminal having a quick charge function and a method therefor are provided to allow a user to easily perform quick charge of a battery without using additional quick charge equipment by providing a user interface for the quick charge and providing a path of a charge current for the quick charge. A CPU(120) controls a PMIC(Power Management IC)(130) to adjust a charge current path and a charge current quantity according to the quick charge selection of a key input unit(110). The PMIC(130) senses and controls a state of a charge current inputted through an adaptive connection implement(150), and adjusts the charge current quantity according to the control of the CPU(120). A path opening and closing device having the first switch(140) and the second switch(160) opens and closes the path of the charge current inputted through the adaptive connection implement(150) according to the control of the CPU(120) and the PMIC(130).
