An equipment and a method for producing a surface defect-free high manganese steel in twin roll strip casting process are provided to reduce dent defects formed on the surface of a strip by reducing heat expansion of gas mixed with the melt while high manganese steel melt is solidified, and improve cracking of a casting slab by using casting rolls made of stainless steel and hardfaced with a Cr contained material such as a weldclad material. In a method for manufacturing a high manganese strip containing 0.1 to 2.0 wt.% of C, 10 to 35 wt.% of Mn, 1 wt.% or less of Al, 0.1 to 2 wt.% of Si and the balance of Fe and impurities contained in a melting material in twin roll strip casting process, a method for producing a surface defect-free high manganese steel in the twin roll strip casting process comprises casting high manganese steel melt to a high manganese strip with a thickness of 1 to 10 mm by using a Cr contained hard faced material as a material for casting rolls, using nitrogen gas dissolved into molten steel as an atmosphere, and processing the surface of the casting rolls to a surface roughness of 5 to 15 mum in order to reduce dent defects on the surface of the strip.
