A mobile communication terminal having a multi-content play time transmission function and a controlling method thereof are provided to record substantially played time in a header of transmitted data to retransmit the data, and to delete a contents file transmitted after the played time lapses, then to enable a server to charge a bill on the basis of the substantially played time, thus usage of multimedia contents can be exactly charged. A mobile communication terminal(1) records substantially played time in a header of transmitted multimedia contents to retransmit the contents, and deletes a contents file transmitted after the played time lapses, and processes a wireless call. A data server(2) transmits the requested multimedia contents to the terminal(1), and charges for substantial usage of the multimedia contents of the terminal(1) on the basis of played time transmitted from the terminal(1) so far when playing of the terminal(1) is interrupted.
