A waterproofing structure of an exposed asphalt sheet and a waterproofing method are provided to prevent the separation of sheets and to extend the service life of sheets by discharging moisture and air from the inside of exposed sheet to the outside effectively, and to form a waterproof layer stably by installing exposed sheets with impregnated silica sands on an asphalt sheet at regular intervals and applying coating materials between an exposed sheet and a parapet. A waterproofing method of an exposed asphalt sheet comprises the steps of: installing a ventilation apparatus such as a ventilation plate(90) and an air vent(80) on the surface of a rooftop slab(10) to make ventilation possible and to remove moisture; installing exposed sheets(50), which are manufactured by impregnating silica sands(40) on the surface of an asphalt sheet(30), on the surface of the slab with the ventilation apparatus at regular intervals; forming a primer layer(20) by applying liquefied primer between the exposed sheets or the corners of the exposed sheets using a roller or a brush, fusion-welding the neighboring ends of exposed asphalt sheets on a part where the exposed sheet is not impregnated with silica sands using torch; laying and reinforcing woven fabrics on the upper part of the fused part of the exposed sheet; forming a coated film(110) by applying coating materials on the upper part of the fused part with the woven fabrics reinforced; forming a silica sand layer by spraying silica sands on the upper part of the fused part with the woven fabrics reinforced and the coating materials applied; forming a coated film layer(60) by applying coating materials composed of urethane resins on the upper part of the silica sand layer and the part of a parapet adjacent to the upper part; and forming a coating layer(70) by applying coating materials on the upper part of the coated film layer.
