A transmission power sensing method for a mobile communication terminal to reduce power loss and the mobile communication terminal therefor are provided to reduce the current consumption and the light emission quantity of the mobile communication terminal and increase a battery waiting time by minimizing power loss according to the sensing of a power level of a wireless transmission signal. A splitting unit(115) receives a wireless transmission signal from an RF transceiver(113), and splits the corresponding wireless transmission signal at a predetermined rate. A power amplifier(116) receives one split wireless transmission signal, and amplifies the received wireless transmission signal. A sensing unit(117) senses a power level of the split another wireless transmission signal. |
