The connector plug [20] such as that used on a telephone line is inserted into a socket that has contacts [30] mounted on a circuit board [10]. The circuit board is a multilayer type having here substrates [S1-3] and metal layers [ML1-4]. Cross talk compensation circuits are built into two regions of the board to increase the compensation capacitance.
