FIELD: lifts and elevators; counterweights. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed counterweight contains first carcass frame 1.1 and second carcass frame 1.2 suspended from first frame by means of parallelogram levers 16, friction drive with drive motors and horizontal drive shafts mounted on frames 1.1, 1.2. Drive shafts on each frame 1.1, 1.2 are made solid and installed in number of two pieces on each of said frames. Shafts form free ends 7.1; 8.1; 7.2; 8.2 projecting sidewards from frames 1.1, 1.2 with fitted on running wheels. Two drive motors 10.1, 11.1; 10.2, 11.2 are arranged on each of both frames 1.1, 1.2.
