A data communication modem device and a recording medium where a program to be installed in the data communication modem device is stored are provided to enable an Internet service provider to easily control and manage even a sharing unit which distributes a data signal to plural computers, in a remote place, as well as to control and manage a modem unit which performs conversion between a transmission signal and the data signal. A modem unit(110) receives a transmission signal related to a data communication service from a wire/wireless channel, and converts the received transmission signal into a data signal which can be processed by a terminal device. A sharing unit(120) distributes and provides the data signal to more than two ports connected with the terminal device. The modem unit(110) controls the sharing unit(120) according to a control request message received from a data communication modem management device.
