A method and an apparatus for controlling a plurality of operations using a single key are provided to perform various operations by indicating key variation states corresponding to a plurality of operations using only one key. A plurality of operations is defined to a single key and a predetermined operating time is set to each of the plurality of operations. Time is increased on the basis of the time when the key is pushed. A variation in the state of the key is indicated on at least one indicator whenever a period of time during which the key is pushed reaches the operating time of each of the operations.
