A method of reducing power consumption in a wireless security apparatus is provided to continuously monitor an area or object while a controller is maintained in a sleep mode. A security sensor transmits a first signal if a monitoring state is varied. A controller receives the first signal, and transmits a second signal based on the first signal. A wireless communication unit receives the second signal transmitted from the controller. A battery supplies an electric power to the security sensor, the controller, and the wireless communication unit. The controller is maintained in a sleep mode if the first signal is not received from the security sensor. |
