A thermal overload relay having a rotatable trip indicator is provided to structurally prevent the initialization of the relay to a normal state due to erroneous manipulation of a trip display unit by a manager not to recognize that the relay is in a trip state. In a thermal overload relay including a bimetal, a shifter, a releasing lever, and a reversing device, an auxiliary holder includes a body unit extended along a vertical direction, and a power transferring unit protruded horizontally from the body unit to provide a rotational force to a trip indicator(51). The auxiliary holder is connected to one end of the reversing device, and is raised by one end of the reversing device reversed during generation of over current. The trip indicator(51) is connected to the auxiliary holder, and is rotated by the drive force transmitted from the auxiliary holder to display a trip operation state to the outside.
