METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING MULTI-MEDIA CONTENTS SERVICE USING DRM

A method and a device for offering a multimedia content service based on DRM(Digital Rights Management) are provided to enable users to buy multimedia contents and exchange a multimedia content present by using the DRM-based communication network, and safely offer the multimedia contents to a user terminal by using a DRM server. A purchase signal receiver receives a multimedia content purchase request signal from the user terminal. A list transmitter transmits multimedia content list information to the user terminal by responding to the multimedia content purchase request signal. A purchase information transmitter transmits purchase information from the user terminal purchasing the multimedia contents by using the multimedia content list information. A DRM phone checker checks whether the user terminal is a DRM phone based on the purchase information. A transmitter transmits the purchased contents to the user terminal. A download completion signal receiver receives a content download completion signal from the user terminal. A storing part stores a purchase log by receiving the content download completion signal.
