<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cruise controller making a target speed more properly follow an actual vehicle speed when carrying out cruise control. <P>SOLUTION: In step S14, force acting in a traveling direction of a vehicle is calculated on the basis of acceleration (a) of the vehicle. In step 16, driving force necessary for maintaining the vehicle at the target speed is calculated on the basis of a difference between the vehicle speed and the target speed, and the force acting on the vehicle. In step S22, the calculated driving force is distributed between an output of an engine, and braking force of an ABS.
