PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display apparatus that can keep a cell gap uniform in a high temperature environment or a low temperature environment even when the apparatus is made large and that has excellent durability free from color irregularity due to so-called gravity failure and free from low temperature foaming. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display apparatus comprises two substrates having alignment layers formed thereon, and a column spacer formed between the two substrates and keeping a gap to seal a liquid crystal, wherein the column spacer is disposed with the distribution density decreasing along a downward direction from an upper part.
