PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a person having the feeble lower limbs to easily get in/out of a wheelchair by reducing a step difference between a footrest body part and the ground when getting in/out of the wheelchair, namely, lowering the footrest body part to the lowest position by a lift and to prevent off-balancing of the sitting posture and the frontward-falling of the feet by lifting the front side of the footrest body when moving the wheelchair, namely, lifting the footrest body. SOLUTION: This footrest for the wheelchair is provided with the footrest body part 26, a lift device 25 positioned in the upper part of the footrest body part and lifting/lowering the footrest body part 26, and an interlocking means 41A interlocked with the lifting/lowering position of the footrest body part 26 and changing the vertical relative angleαbetween the lift device 25 and the footrest body part 26.
