METHOD FOR GENERATING HALFTONE SCREEN AND SYSTEM THEROF

A method and a device for designing a halftone screen are provided to easily make a cluster dot have a specific main distance and improve a printing quality through uniform growth of a dot center. A dot center determiner grows the temporarily generated dot centers to a uniform binary pattern. A filter designer calculates the main distance of the dot center and designs a screen filter by using the calculated main distance. A screen designer designs the halftone screen by using the designed screen filter. The dot center determiner uses a distance function to evaluate uniform distribution of the dot centers. The filter designer designs a frequency filter by using the calculated main distance and designs a spatial filter by reversely transforming the designed frequency filter having property in a frequency domain of a binary image and the opposite property.
