CHARACTER INPUT SYSTEM AND CHARACTER INPUT PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to quickly and accurately extract necessary data from a large amount of data by a few selecting operations by flexibly designating refinement conditions and facilitating a decision making when designating the conditions.

SOLUTION: This character input system is provided with: an address data table 106 in which address data are divided into a plurality of levels and stored; an address data list display region 101 for retrieving the table 106 based on the characters selected from the designation column 103 in which a plurality of characters are displayed and displaying an address for every level including characters selected; and a display device for displaying a refinement character designation column 103 , and an address data level-based display region list 102b for displaying the address selected from the display region 101 for every level. When a certain character is designated from the refinement character designation column 103, the address including the characters designated by retrieving the address data table is displayed in the address data list display region 101, and the address selected from the address data list display region 101 is displayed in the corresponding level of the address data level-based display region list 102.
