<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carriage system for carrying articles without interruption while efficiently, rapidly updating map data on carrying routes when the map data are altered in the system having a plurality of carriages 1 which hold map data on areas, which they travel, and travel according to the map data to carry articles; and controllers 3 and 7 which control the carriages. <P>SOLUTION: The controllers 3 and 7 are provided with designation means which designate carriages and updating means which update the map data on the designated carriages 1. The controllers update the map data of the carriages 1 in higher preferential order.
