PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer for electrophotography capable of obtaining an image of high image quality, having high durability and less liable to cause carrier adhesion. SOLUTION: The developer for electrophotography comprises a toner and a carrier comprising core material particles made of only a magnetic material and a resin layer covering the particle surface, wherein the toner has a weight average particle diameter of≤6.0μm, the carrier has a weight average particle diameter Dw of 25-45μm, a rate of content of particles having a particle diameter of <44μm in the carrier is≥70 wt.%, a rate of content of particles having a particle diameter of <22μm in the carrier is≤7 wt.%, and the ratio Dw/Dp of the Dw to a number average particle diameter Dp of the carrier is in the range of 1-1.30.
