PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure contrast of a spotlight part with the other part even when an input image is dark, relating to an image display device with a spotlight function. SOLUTION: The image display device controls at least a gain of the spotlight part or a chromaticity difference gain between the spotlight part and the other part according to average luminance or average chromaticity of an input image signal or an image signal corresponding to the spotlight part.
