A question/response checking method for recognizing a target is provided to quickly and accurately draw results from question/response recognition when a question/response checking system is interlocked with a distance measurer. A question/response checking method for recognizing a target comprises the steps for obtaining information about distance to the target from a distance measurer(110) according to commands to check question/response; producing modulated signals and question signals at a question/response checking device(120) and transmitting the question signals to the target; detecting distance about the target out of response signals about the question signals; and comparing the measured distance with the distance detected from the response signals and thereby recognizing the target. The distance measurement uses regression delay time for returning after transmitting the question signals.
