PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for making audio synchronized with video by reducing audio latency. SOLUTION: A method for reducing audio latency, when executing program instructions for processing audio data, is provided. In this method, an upper threshold and a lower threshold are provided. Determination is then made as to the amount of audio data stored in the audio buffer of an audio renderer. Thereafter, the amount is compared with the upper threshold and the lower threshold, and accordingly, an audio data feed to the audio renderer is adjusted incrementally such that the amount is between the upper threshold and the lower threshold.
