<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which outputs copies, as desired, in whatever direction an original is used, turns to and further in whatever direction a user sets the original. <P>SOLUTION: The image processor reads the image of the original and copies the duplicate image of the image of the original on paper, wherein the image signal of a noticeable pixel in the image of the original is binarized; the black pixel of the binarized image signal is expanded; and a plurality of black pixel areas obtained by expanding the black pixel are coupled to extract the circumscribed rectangle of the coupled area; and on the basis of the position and the feature of the size of the extracted circumscribed rectangle and the direction of characters in the circumscribed rectangle, whether the direction of the image is lengthwise direction; sideways direction, upward direction or downward direction is decided; and the arrangement of the images of a plurality of originals on the paper is determined according to the result of the decision; and the images of the plurality of originals are composited into a single composited image at the determined position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
