A refrigerating device has an inner chamber (5) surrounded by insulating walls (2, 3, 4) and an illumination system (10) for the inner chamber, the illumination system (10) including an elongated light source (18) and a housing (14, 19, 24, 29) which surrounds the light source. A rear wall (14) of the housing (14, 19, 24, 29) penetrates into one of the insulating walls (2), the depth of penetration of the rear wall (14) into the insulating wall (2) being maximal in the vicinity of the light source (18) and diminishing as the distance from the light source (18) increases. |
