The vehicle chassis, with two longitudinal supports (3) extending in the direction of travel and with locating faces (14) on the undersides for connection of a running gear (2), has a reinforcing element (4) which widens the locating face transversely to the direction of travel. The underside of the profile cross section (P) of the longitudinal supports and the underside of the reinforcing element terminate flush at the bottom in the common locating face. The locating face has means (10,13) for the releasable fastening of the running gear.
