A femoral member of double offset construction has a distal, conical rounded end adapted to a section of a neck trapezoidal circle. A cotyloid cup consists of a metallic dome, an insert, and screws. Both inserts and screws are of semi-spherical shapes with smoothed zones for non-contact with the bottom of the acetabulum. A section of minimal thickness is defined between the interior zone of the dome and the exterior of the insert.
