PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to simply change the number of slit plates of a slitter device and its cutter structure. SOLUTION: At least one pair of vertical rotary cutters out of a plurality of the rotary cutters are made into the split rotary cutters, in the slitter device furnished with a plurality of the rotary cutters to shear a steel plate in multiple rows. The steel plate shearing method by the slitter device changes the number of the shearing rows by adjusting a shearing interval by mounting or removing a pair of the rotary cutters.
