<p>The arm rest for a chair is supported by an upright (19). A slide (16) fits on to this and first (15) and second (14) guide plates are fitted on to the slide. A swivel (13) fits on to the second guide plate and a retainer (12) is fastened to this. A mounting plate (17) fits into the top of the upright carrying a plug (170) which passes through the two guide plates and swivel and is fastened to the retainer. A pad (10) is attached to the first guide plate and covers the second plate, swivel and retainer.</p>
