<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of displaying a screen in which leakage of light is not very noticeable by canceling the retardation occurring in a glass substrate when a certain stress is applied to the display screen. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display 10, an NEPC film 13a or 13b is disposed next to a glass substrate 15a or 15b so that the optical elasticity is canceled. More practically, the NEPC films 13a and 13b having negative optical elasticity are disposed in the liquid crystal display 10 on and beneath the liquid crystal cell consisting of the glass substrate 15a and 15b through the liquid crystal 17. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
