PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To capture a stereoscopic image displayed by using a lenticular lens, a lens sheet, or the like, as digital data by using a scanner. SOLUTION: Regarding the stereoscopic image capturing apparatus which can capture the stereoscopic image by adding the lens sheet or a lens array to an optical system of an image scanner where the image can be captured by scanning a line image sensor and a lens, a projecting lens and a relay lens are also added to the apparatus, then, the stereoscopic image can be captured in a distance between the apparatus and an object. Only by directly printing out the captured image data without postprocessing the image data, such the stereoscopic image is obtained that can be displayed by using the lenticular lens, the lens sheet, or the like.
