PRINTER, METHOD OF DETECTING STICK SLIP, PROGRAM, AND PRINTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly detect the presence or absence of generation of the stick slip motion of a printing head. SOLUTION: The printer is equipped with: the printing head which makes printing to a medium; a motor for moving the printing head; a guide part for guiding the printing head along a predetermined direction; a motor control part which controls the motor; an acceleration detecting part which detects an acceleration of the printing head; and a judging part which judges whether the printing head performs the stick slip motion, on the basis of the acceleration detected by the acceleration detecting part when the motor control part controls the motor to move the printing head at a constant velocity of not larger than a predetermined velocity along the guide part.
