PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reduction casting method using a molten metal supply tube where casting operations such as the supply of a reducing substance and the supply of molten metal can be efficiently performed, and reduction casting can be easily performed. SOLUTION: Regarding the reduction casting method, between a molten metal supply tube 32 equipped at a molten metal supply tank 30 and a mold 20, a plunger apparatus 40 communicated to the molten metal supply tube and a cavity 20a in the mold, and provided with a sleeve 42 connected with a supply path 52 for a reducing substance is interposed, and, when molten metal is supplied from the molten metal supply tube 32 to the cavity 20a, an oxide film produced on the surface of the molten metal is reduced by a reducing substance introduced from the supply path to the sleeve, and casting is performed. In this case, the casting is performed in such a manner that an operation where a driving mechanism 45 provided at the plunger apparatus 40 is driven, the movement position of a plunger piston 44 provided so as to be slidable in the sleeve 42 is controlled, and the reducing substance is introduced into the sleeve 42, and an operation where molten metal is supplied from the molten metal supply tank 30 to the cavity 20a are changed.
