PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method where the proper quantity of (a) low boiling point and/or low melting point metallic element(s) can be uniformly dispersed into a continuously cast slab. SOLUTION: (1) The continuous casting method for molten metal, wherein through an immersion lance immersed into molten metal in a tundish or a mold, the vapor and/or particles in an additional metallic element(s) is fed into the molten metal together with carrier gas, thus the concentration of the additional metallic element(s) in the mold is controlled to 0.0001 to 0.005 mass%, is provided. (2) The continuous casting method described in the above (1), wherein the carrier gas is inert gas and/or one or more kinds selected from oxygen gas, hydrogen gas, nitrogen gas, carbon dioxide gas, hydrocarbon gas and sulfurous acid gas, is provided. (3) The continuous casting method described in the above (1) or (2), wherein the molten metal is the molten steel and the additional metallic element(s) is one or more kinds selected from magnesium, bismuth, calcium, tellurium, lead, manganese, yttrium and thallium, is provided.
