PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a buffer material for radioactive waste disposal capable of quickly inexpensively manufacturing the buffer material of high quality for the radioactive waste disposal. SOLUTION: Bentonite having a wide width of prescribed particle size distribution is used as a raw material, in this method of manufacturing the buffer material 1 for the radioactive waste disposal provided with a filling step S1 for feeding the raw material into a flexible molding container 27, and a molding step S2 for molding the buffer material 1 for the radioactive waste disposal by pressure-molding the molding container 27 filled with the raw material by a cold hydrostatic pressure press 49.
