PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove bubbles with a small quantity of water used in a short time by controlling the activity of foam when the generation of foam is sensed in a washing machine and a foam removing method thereof. SOLUTION: In washing, the torque change amount of a motor is detected, or the generation of foam is sensed from the duration of draining in draining operation. This foam removing method includes: the operation of performing water feeding, stirring and draining in order, and removing residual detergent in a water bin; the operation of performing water feeding and stirring in order and removing residual detergent in washings; and the operation of heightening the water feed quantity and the motor operation ratio to remove residual detergent in the water bin and the washings while performing water feeding and stirring in order.
