PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of preventing image defects. SOLUTION: The image display device has a display part (11), consisting of a two-dimensional display element and an eyepiece optical system which forms a virtual image of a display screen of the two-dimensional display element; a circuit part for displaying image on the display screen of the two-dimensional display element; an attachment means, capable of attaching the display part (11) at the head of an observer so that a forming position of the virtual image, is approximately in front of an eye (2) of the observer and a position input means (35) for making the observer input positional relation between the eye and the display part.
