The method involves receiving data and key by a data processing unit. The key contains information relating to a supplementary program for processing the data. The unit accesses the supplementary program using the key that includes the information. The information is required for executing the supplementary program by a main program and for registering the supplementary program in registration database of the former unit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a data processing unit for executing a supplementary program (2) a computer program for a method of executing a supplementary program.
