Use of a prochloraz (imidazole-1-carboxylic acid propyl-[2-(2,4,6-trichloro-phenoxy)-ethyl]-amide) to protect wood, wood materials or wood-plastic-materials, from the infestation and/or the destruction through mold rusty fungus. Independent claims are included for: (1) the microbicidal agent containing prochloraz and at least one diluent, solvent, optionally auxiliary material, additives or microbicide components; (2) protection of wood, wood material or wood plastic material, comprising treating the wood material with prochloraz by spraying, vacuum, double vacuum, pressure-, immersion method, or by the addition of glue or master batch or by compound impregnation; and (3) wood, wood material or wood plastic material containing prochloraz.
