READILY INTERCHANGEABLE MARKER FOR A TIRE MOLD

A readily interchangeable marking element or stamp (20) for use in tire molds (22) is provided. As information (26) to be placed onto the surface of a tire, such as a sidewall (24), is subject to change, the present invention provides a convenient apparatus for readily changing such information during manufacturing. Features that ensure the proper orientation of the stamp within the tire and proper seating of the stamp as a tire is removed from the tire mold are described.
