A reel feeding method and a feeder are provided to increase productivity and reduce labor cost by completing an automatic part supply device through a linkage drive system of a motor and a sensor. A reel feeding method includes the steps of: winding a tape including electronic parts around a reel; assembling the reel to a shaft of a drive motor; supplying the tape to an assembling process through an upper moving path and a clamp; sensing whether or not a rear end of the tape exists on the upper moving path; sensing whether or not the drive motor of the clamp is driven; commanding to replace the reel by a new reel by stopping the drive motor of the clamp; connecting the tape of the new reel to the rear end of the used tape while continuously supplying a tape stacked on a magazine; inversely rotating the drive motor of the reel so as to provide a predetermined tension to the connection tape by pushing a button; and stacking the connection tape of the replaced reel on the magazine after a predetermined time.
