PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure capable of fully supporting radial load working on a rotating shaft such as a steering shaft, for simultaneously preventing a backlash and hammering sounds, enhancing assemblability, and reducing oscillating torque. SOLUTION: A sleeve 20 passed through the rotating shaft is swingably and rotatably supported against a housing 17 by means of a spherical sliding bearing 18 and a rolling bearing 19. An outer ring 13a forming the spherical sliding bearing 18 has its inner peripheral surface composed of a plurality of composite face parts 22 made circumferentially contiguous to one another, each of the composite face parts 22 having a recessed spherical part 28 as an axial half and a cylindrical face part 29 as the other axial half. The adjoining composite face parts 22 are arranged such that their respective spherical surface parts 28 and cylindrical surface parts 29 are axially arranged the other way around. A convex spherical part 30 formed on the outer peripheral surface of the inner ring 14a is caused to abut against only the recessed spherical part 28. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
